Environmental Health
The Environmental Health Section provides soil-evaluations, on-site sewage system designs, water testing on private wells, inspection of food and lodging establishments, day care centers, and childhood lead poisoning detection and prevention. In order to serve you better, please bring the following information with you when you come request a septic tank permit: The name of the landowner at the time the septic tank was installed as well as the year was installed. (If you do not know this, you should go to the Register of Deeds office which is located in the courthouse and ask them to give you a printout of all previous owners). A plot of the land in which you are requesting service for. Application fee (for fee amount or see our fee schedule).
