Pharmacy Assistance Program

The Richmond County Health Foundation established the Richmond County Pharmacy Program in March of 2001. During the last 10 years of operation, the program assisted more than 1,034 Richmond County citizens (age 50 or older) by providing them with more than $7,332,790.00 in prescription medicines.

The Qualifications to Apply for this program are as follows:

Must be a resident of Richmond County
Must be 50 years or older
Must NOT be on Medicare or Medicaid
Must NOT have prescription insurance coverage

Income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Things to Bring when you apply for the Pharmacy Assistance Program:

1. Prescriptions from your doctor - written for a 90 day supply with 3 refills.

2. Copies of monthly household income (Social Security SSA 1099 & Benefits Statement, Disability, Pension, Other)

3. Picture ID.

4. Social Security Card

5. Medicaid Denial Letter

6. Proof of Address (utility Bill if not on ID.)

The Richmond County Health Department Pharmacy is currently open on Tuesdays - Thursdays from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Clients can come during these times to pick up their medications. You must call your prescription in at least 10 days before coming to pick it up. Please call 417-1108 and leave a message on the voicemail system. Please be sure to state your full name and the name(s) of each prescription you are needing a refill on.
