The Richmond County Parks are established with the goal of providing activities, events, and facilities to meet the needs of the people of Richmond County .

American Rivers and the City of Rockingham has helped to transform Hitchcock Creek in Rockingham, North Carolina into a destination for fishing, boating, walking, biking and other family friendly recreation

Castlewood Park is owned and operated by Richmond County. There are two picnic shelters available for use--on a first come first serve basis.
The park opens 15 minutes until dawn and closes 15 minutes before dusk.
Facility is closed and not maintained Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Hinson Lake is a lovely city park located within the city limits of Rockingham NC. The city has prepared almost 3 miles of walking trails looping around the lake just underneath a shady canopy of trees with numerous wooden bridges including one that is 300ft long with a nice gazebo in the middle Picnic tables and benches are located around the lake.
