Aging Services

Richmond County Aging Services is an organization that provides a focal point for aging resources as well as opportunities to extend independent living and enrich the quality of life for Richmond County older adults.

Aging is a normal developmental process that brings both rewards and challenges. Older adults have ambitions and are capable of continued growth and development. They have certain basic needs, including the need for opportunities for relationships and for experiencing a sense of achievement.

Older adults have a right to a voice in determining matters that impact them, and access to sources of information and assistance for personal and family problems, including opportunities to learn from individuals coping with similar experiences.

Aging Services- Veterans B-fast 3-29-18

The Alzheimer’s Association along with Richmond Co. DSS, Richmond Co. Aging Services, and Lumber River Council of Governments will be hosting a training on “The Basics” on February 8, 2017, 9:00am-11:00am at the RC Cole Auditorium, 1042 W. Hamlet Avenue, Hamlet, NC 28345.  

This is an education program by the Alzheimer’s Association.  Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging.  If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts.  This program provides information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and much more.  To register or for more information visit the Alzheimer’s Association website,
