Wetlands are Wonderful flyer

This annual, statewide contest encourages students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades to be creative and learn about the natural environment around them! The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is Wetlands are Wonderful

Submission Deadlines

  • Posters are due on Friday, January 31st, 2025.

Requirements

  • Posters should display content relevant to the nature of conservation and this year's theme. 
    • The importance of wetlands, their role in our ecosystem, and ways to protect them could be highlighted on the poster.
  • Posters should be the work of individual students - no group posters.
  • Poster size: no smaller than 22"' x 28'' and no larger than 24" x 36"
  • Each poster must have the student's name, grade, teacher's name, and school written on the back.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Judging

  • Posters will be judged on the following points
    • 50% - Conservation message
    • 25% - Visual effectiveness
    • 10% - Universal appeal
    • 10% - Originality
    • 5% - Hand-drawn elements
  • Infractions
    • 5 points - Copyright violation
    • 5 points - Exceeds or is under size limits

Awards

  • The 1st place county winner from each grade level will receive an award and advance to the Area competition, with the chance of going to the state competition.
